Even if the Department of Education is abolished, the serious dangers in government-run schools will not go away.
March 4, 2025 - As I mentioned during our last webcast, we want to encourage Christian parents to remove their children from the ungodly influence of government-run schools and educate them Biblically through homeschooling, or enrolling your children in a Bible-believing Christian school.
I also mentioned that the dangers of government-run education would remain, even if the U. S. Department of Education is abolished. In this segment I want to describe some of those dangers.
The dangers became evident to many Christian parents for the first time, thanks to the COVID-19 mandates which locked their children out of the public schools. The closure of schools under corona virus restrictions and the resulting implementation of "homeschooling" in many public school systems brought a new phenomenon to many homes: Watchful parents became much more aware of the dangerous, anti-Christian, anti-Scriptural propaganda their children were receiving as "education" every day, courtesy of the government-run school systems.
What most parents were not aware of is this: Public school systems were able to quickly convert to "homeschooling mode" because many of them were already using dangerous learning tools from Google in the classroom. This made the conversion to the use of Google tools for distance learning relatively easy.
Over 150 million students and over 6 million teachers are now using a product suite called Google for Education. With the advent of COVID-19 and the closure of public school classrooms in many places, the use of Google's tools skyrocketed.
What are some of the dangers? The Google curriculum supports abortion, homosexuality, transgenderism, same-sex "marriage" and euthanasia. Google for Education denigrates Christ and the Bible. It ridicules the Genesis creation account. It revises the histories of the United States and other countries to exclude or spread falsehoods about their Biblical foundations. And that is only the beginning. Google tracks students' performance, thinking patterns, and many other kinds of behavior.
Because of these developments, the public school environment has become "big brother". Your children's behaviors and beliefs are being monitored. Massive amounts of data about your children are being accumulated. And there is no effective control over how that data will be used - or by whom - to manipulate the minds of young people now and in the future.
The United States Department of Education was supposed to prosecute such violations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and other laws, but relatively little has been done. The door has been opened wide for Google and others to share the personal data of school children, and to track their thinking patterns so that curricula and tools can be shaped to better influence them in directions desired, not by parents, but by Google and the government.
These evils are now fully entrenched. They will not go away even if the U. S. Department of Education is abolished. The tools and techniques that have been put in place will only be used to exercise greater control, and to condition children to accept ungodly thinking that is aimed at the very foundations of authentic Biblical Christianity. For Christian parents to not take personal responsibility for educating their children is to barter away their souls.
How are parents to train their children? We find the answer in passages such as Psalm 34, beginning at verse 11:
Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
Now more than ever, Christian parents who are not yet homeschooling their children or enrolling them in Bible-believing Christian schools need to face these facts, and take action.
