We find the truth about God - and man - in only one place.

December 10, 2024 - In our last News Update we saw that rejection of the incorruptible God is producing the corruption that we see all around us - in politics and government, in our justice systems, in society, and in the church.

The only thing that can truly change the situation is for sinful mankind to bow the knee to the incorruptible God of the Bible. Mankind needs to face the truth about the incorruptible God, and the holiness that He rightfully demands of every one of us.

How do we know this is true? We know it because the incorruptible God has given us His incorruptible Word, the Bible.

In First Peter, chapter one, beginning at verse 22 we find these words, written to those who believe the truth:

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the Word of God which lives and abides forever, because "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the Word of the Lord endures forever." Now this is the Word which by the Gospel was preached to you.

Those who have bowed the knee to the incorruptible God know the truth because we have "been born again" - verse 23 - "not of corruptible seed of but incorruptible" - "the Word of God which lives and abides forever" - "the Word which by the Gospel was preached to you."

We read in Hebrews chapter 4 that

The Word of God is alive and powerful... a discerner [or more literally, the infallible critic] of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from [God's] sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

And what does this infallible, incorruptible critic tell us about ourselves? Jeremiah chapter 17 tells us that "the heart [of man] is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked." So how can we, corrupt human beings, become holy in the sight of God? How can we change our course from corruption to integrity?

We can only do so because God has given an incorruptible Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to purchase incorruptibility for us, and to intercede for us in the throne room of Heaven.

In our next update we will focus on the incorruptible Savior, and how He has purchased deliverance from the corruption of this fallen world for anyone who will bow the knee before Him.
