Dr. Elliott's neurosurgery, originally scheduled for September 26, has been rescheduled for January 15, 2013. We praise the Lord that a respiratory infection was evident the day before surgery, leading to the postponement. If the infection had not been apparent until after surgery it could have led to pneumonia and possibly a brain infection. Please continue to pray that the Lord will continue to give Dr. Elliott the strength he needs in the weeks to come.

The Lord willling, we'll be sharing more about this in our Annual Ministry Report in a few weeks. A re-issue of our Bible Knowledgebase series on the Jehovah's Witnesses begins on November 5th and will run for two weeks. We receive many inquiries about the teachings of this cult from folks who have Watchtower Society representatives coming to their doors, encounter Jehovah's Witnesses on the job, or seek to present the truth to friends and family members who have been ensnared by its false teachings. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to make these materials available to those in need. Please pray with us that the Lord will use it to protect His people from falsehood, and to bring souls to Christ.
We recently received two letters from pastors in the Philippines. One is the president of a seminary, and he thanked us for our teaching materials exposing and countering the errors of the Purpose-Driven Church movement. This movement is a growing presence in that nation, and many pastors and congregations are falling prey to the delusion of growing their churches numerically by robbing the Gospel of its power. The other letter was from a pastor who had been caught up in this movement, and is now seeking, by God's grace, to pursue a Bibical course. We have provided him additional resources to aid in this effort, including copies of The Basis of Christian Unity, Authority, and Preaching and Preachers by Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines who are dealing with this threat, and please pray that the Lord will continue to provide the financials means for us to provide books, CDs, and other resources to those who are on the front lines of the battle.
We plan to re-issue the 10-part broadcast series, What Does It Mean to Be a Scripture-Driven Church? early in the coming year. This is our most-requested series on CD, and we are producing an updated version. Please pray that the Lord will continue to use these programs to point believers and churches to Scripture alone as our sole authority, and infallible critic, in every area of life and ministry.
Listeners in difficult places. Some of our broadcast listeners are living in parts of the world where Christian fellowship is limited or non-existent, hardships are many, and persecution is a fact of life. Please pray for brothers and sisters in Christ who are seeking to remain faithful to Him under such trying circumstances.
