About
Morning and Evening
Baptist minister Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was
arguably his century's greatest preacher. Morning and Evening
was widely read during his lifetime, has been
translated into dozens of languages, and remains one of
the most popular devotional books ever produced.
In two short messages for
each day, Spurgeon emphasizes
the practical and personal nature of God's Word in
the life and thought of the believer. He applies
Scripture to daily living in ways that will encourage you in your walk with the Lord,
and challenge you to know more of His Word.
You can have each day's
readings delivered automatically to your in-box by subscribing

Profitable Word Daily Edition.
We have linked the Scripture references for each reading
to an online copy of the King James Version, the
translation that Spurgeon used. (In a
few cases we have substituted the New King James Version for
clarity.) The linked Bible texts are stored at the website BibleGateway.com,
and are used by their permission.
